ALYSSA OQUENDO, MS

Jr. Data Analyst

Alyssa Oquendo is a Data & Research Expert at Falcon, bringing a strong foundation in behavioral neuroscience, experimental psychology, and advanced data analysis to support justice‑focused research and operational transformation. She holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science from Nova Southeastern University (NSU), where her academic work centered on cognition, executive attention, and the behavioral impacts of stress. During her graduate studies, Ms. Oquendo served as both a Graduate Research Assistant and a Research Assistant in Neuroscience, contributing to high‑level investigations and publishing multiple poster presentations at national Psychonomic conferences. She was also selected as the 2024 Keynote Speaker for the NSU Graduate Talk Series, presenting her work on the relationship between executive attention and negative mind‑wandering. She additionally holds a certification in Sports Neuroscience. 

At Falcon, Ms. Oquendo leads data collection, analysis, and research design to inform evidence‑based decision‑making for correctional systems nationwide. Her recent work includes analysis for the Washington State Department of Corrections’ Sequential Intercept Model – Prisons (SIM‑P), evaluation of national violence trends in correctional environments, and assessment of outcomes associated with evidence‑based programming. She has also supported the Rhode Island Department of Corrections by managing data and documentation requests to guide system‑level insights. 

Prior to joining Falcon, Ms. Oquendo conducted National Science Foundation–supported research examining the connection between inflammation and cognition during periods of high stress.  

Driven by curiosity and a commitment to scientific integrity, Ms. Oquendo brings analytical depth, research precision, and a passion for improving outcomes within correctional and behavioral health systems.
